Chavurat Tikvah of Southern Westchester New York Synagogue
There is no additional fee for religious school. Our Chavurah subscribes to the principle that it is the responsibility of all members to educate our youth. Our students are fortunate to be taught by Rabbi Dena in small groups meeting in our homes. We emphasize learning through play and discovery. We seek to connect learning to what we do as Jews in our families, the Chavurah and our everyday lives.
Bar/Bat-mitzvah training is led by Rabbi Dena.
At Chavurat Tikvah we follow the Chai curriculum for religious studies and the Mitkadem curriculum for hebrew studies.
Regular music sessions are led by an adult member of the chavurah. These aim to engage our youth emotionally and spiritually with their Judaism while familiarizing them with holiday music and the prayers chanted and sung during services. Spontaneous dancing has been known to break out at times!
